THE SPECIALIST MEDIA SHOW CHALLENGE
The Specialist Media Show (SMS) is an annual event that focuses on the needs of an extensive range of specialist media, providing them with opportunities to learn about new channels, share ideas and tips, and network with peers. The show organisers had worked with Dupree Creative previously and knew they would deliver a creative, innovative web site with robust technical features and functionality
The Specialist Media Show focuses on the needs of media industry specialists, it was therefore imperative Dupree Creative successfully utilised its wealth of experience in web design to create a dynamic, up-to-the minute website that effectively showcases the event to this specialist audience, providing them with opportunities to engage with the event and promote key features to ensure they diarise the event as a must-attend.

THE DUPREE DIFFERENCE
Last year, Dupree Creative devised an eye catching futuristic red, grey and black corporate identity for the show, this year they built on this theme and created a dynamic and sophisticated look and feel for the web site. Customer journeys were plotted to maximise the user experience and to ensure the site provided visitors with all the information they need. A flash countdown timer has been created to add interest to the home page, drawing attention to the approach of the forthcoming event and encouraging prospective attendees to book in good time.
Content features video clips of last year’s show illustrating the benefits and attractions. This is proving to be an effective tool in promoting the event to exhibitors, sponsors and attendees. Links to social networking sites ensure users receive frequent updates.

THE RESULTS OF OUR PARTNERSHIP
“We asked Dupree Creative to design and build a website for our new show launch in 2010. They created a contemporary logo we have used on the web, in print, in signage at the show, and in social media activity, plus a website that catered for both exhibitors and visitors to the event. For our second event in 2011, we wanted to refresh the website and add more article-based content to the site as well as video and more images, to make it an all-year round resource for the specialist media community, not just an event support site. The new site has more drama and much more content, relevant to our target audience of specialist media people. Navigation is stylish and effective, setting the site apart from more staid templated events sites. The updated Creator CMS allows our team to add news and update pages from anywhere, and is very easy to use. Traffic in the last month is double the same time last year, which bodes well for our 2011 attendance figures. We have also received praise for the design of the site from our exhibitors and show partners.”
